Hopefully I can get on it otherwise I am for lack of a better term completely screwed. I am currently also trying to get an official diagnoses of the mental disorders/illnesses I have and have gotten together some past records of going to therapy and such. So hopefully I can get enough information or 'proof' that they require to approve it. I have a meeting on wednesday at the SSI place so I'll bring the documentation I have and I guess find out more at the appointment.

Just really hoping this works out, since I don't really have any other options currently...also I think having a little income would help me find ways to reduce my stress and maybe improve my functioning to be able to hold a job or something eventually. My mom is helping me a bit with money, but only until I get SSI...and then she might even want me to contribute some to bills if I plan to stay here long term of course I would prefer to find a different living situation as soon as possible.

I haven't been approved yet but the application process has gone ok so far, I think I have to send them more info though since I've recently gotten prescriptions for anxiety.

Oh wow, I am in the same boat as you. I have severe depression and anxiety, that has interfered with my working capabilities....and was recently laid off...only I have no unemployment, my boyfriend is unemployed (we live together) and now have no income. Our landlord is willing to be patient with us though, so that is good...but I am also applying for SSI...I hope you win your case...I know it's been a pain for me to try and win mine in the past. Best of luck!

Good luck. I have had SSDI since 2006, it's a lifesaver!! I have been through so much because of my illness, I feel it's well deserved.

I began receiving SSI beginning of this year. From what I was told/and experienced, the more info they want, the likelier your chances they think you could be eligible. I remember getting sent paperwork after paperwork, phone calls upon phone calls....but a Disability claims Advocate told me, "If they're asking for more info, that's a really good sign."

Of course this was my experience only....but it sounds like a good sign.
