This is the hardest question for me on the paperwork.....How do I answer this? (They say break it down like 7 am wake up, breakfast ect). I have so much emotional ups and downs that I don't have a typical day. One day I might have had no sleep and tons of nightmares all night so I sleep all day. Or the another I might be so deep in depression that I watch tv all day. One day I might feel ok, but then something stressful happens and I have a panic attack. Do I say that there is no typical day for someone with such emotional instability?

If I can ask, what is this for? What I would write would depend on the form and reason behind it.
Without that information though I would probably put 2 different scenarios. Have a 'good day' and a 'bad day' and then write what would cause it to be 'good' or 'bad' and what you would most likely do on those days. Exactly like here. On a good day I _______ (get up, get dressed, breakfast etc.) On a bad day it varies. If I have not slept I _______. If I am feeling low I ________. If I am very stressed I ________. Again, for me it would really depend on what the form was for but if you are wanting to be as honest as possible I would give the main scenarios that affect you ![]() |

Probably best to put your worst days, or at least a bad day. If you put the good day stuff, they may see that as a reason to discontinue your SSDI

I agree. I made the mistake of telling them that I volunteer sometimes--and I think that had a lot to do with why I was denied.

For something like that I agree that you would be putting a bad day.

Please help me about if this is ok, or if I Should change anything. I am scared about how to write about my son.
So should I say "Every day is different because my moods are so up and down. I wake up between 7 and 10 depending on how well I slept. I make breakfast. Go to appt. if I have one. Somedays it takes me all day or days to use coping skills to get out of a depressed, anxious, or psychotic state until something works: deep breathing, bath, walk, read, talk to someone, pet my cat. I call my mom about 8 times a day when I am really having trouble. I take care of my son and ask for help when needed, my mom is always available. I overeat when I am depressed (lunch then lots of snacks), undereat when anxious or have psychotic symptoms (no lunch, maybe a snack). Watch a show. I can't leave my house, especially if the neighbors are outside Eat dinner. call my mom or sister. Try to clean up or ask for help. Help my son with school work, read him a book. Try to go to bed around 9, can't get to sleep til 12 or 1. Wake up around 3 or 4 and stay up a couple hours. Once a week or more I stay up all night in a panic attack with voices in my head." Please help me and tell me if this is ok or if i should add anything |

you have said everything that you should, but its a bit jumbled up, how does this sound?
Every day is different due to my condition being so variable. Depending on how well I slept I wake up between 7 and 10 am. On a good day (2-4 days a week) I make breakfast and attend an appointment if i have one, watch a show on TV , help my son with his school work, eat dinner and retire to bed around 9pm. When my condition is bad (usually 3 or 4 days a week) I wake up around 3 or 4 am, stay awake for a couple of hours then sleep till around 10am unable to leave the house I phone mum about 8 times during the day. She helps me take care of my son and clean the house. At least once a week I am unable to sleep at all due to panic attacks and voices in my head which means I am awake for two days solid which exhausts me and makes me even more depresses and anxious. my food intake is dependent on my state of mind, I overeat when I am depressed (lunch then lots of snacks), undereat when anxious or have psychotic symptoms (no lunch, maybe a snack). by saying mum helps you care for your son on bad days proves you have things in place for these days. I would be much more concerned if you had not mentioned how you cope with him on bad days. |

"On a typical day I might sleep all day because I was plagued with nightmares the previous night or I might be so depressed that I watch TV most of the day. Some days I might start out okay but something stressful like [example] occurs and I have a panic attack that takes me [several] hours to get under control. Most days I feel too emotionally unstable to be able to accomplish anything productive."
