I appealed almost a year ago and still have not been scheduled a court date. I want to call him up and see if there's anything else he needs from me or if there's anything I can to help speed things up. It's just that I'm getting really discouraged and don't know how much of this waiting I can take. It's not helping with my depression at all.

Yes, especially if you have not contacted him in the last month or so. Remind him of you, he gets paid when you get paid and the reminder might cheer him too :-)
