Hey y'all : )
Okay so I started a new job in my field-and it's great! I'm so thankful! My insurance starts June 1st and it seems to be really good! So it covers mental health-which is awesome-it's unlimited sessions and no deductible. However-the T I've been with for 2 years and absolutely love does not bill for insurance-he said when we first started he could write recipes or sign papers as requested though. Does anyone else get reimbursed for therapy? Is it a pain? Are there cons to getting reimbursed? it says on my one form-that if its an LcSw (which T is) I need a Doctor to sign for validation-so could I just get my psychiatrist to sign off that I need therapy? Thanks y'all!!

I think it will depend on your insurance, how much a pain it is. It sounds like a good idea to me to start with your psychiatrist though, see if he understands it and can help. Does he work with your T? Your T might know too and already have a doctor that signs off for insurance for her, etc.
I never bothered using my insurance for therapy since I was paying out of pocket and could afford it (especially after I got my job :-) I wasn't in the mood to jump through any hoops.
