I get SSDI, and my wife works a part-time, minimum wage job because she can't find anything else. We are really struggling and facing a move. I was tryign to get us both healthcare coverage (because of my state's standard's I am only elligable for the equivalent of "catastrophe" medicaid, and she is not elligable at all). We will be moving within the next 6 months or so (she's moving in about 6 weeks, I will follow later) back across the country. I'm trying to figure out how my disability benefits will change, and what to expect with getting healthcare coverage, but I'm finding that we are falling through the holes in the plans. She does not make enough on her own to qualify for tax credits or help with the marketplace. We have to file jointly because we are legally married, but my disability income doesn't count towards what they consider "income" because it's not federally taxable... So we don't make enough to qualify for assitance with the ACA, nor with the state because they take my income into account... ugh. Can I hide under a rock an never come out?

I feel your pain. I just spent three hours accomplishing very little. This is by far the most convoluted system I've worked with. I wish they had a cheat sheet where you could identify what you want covered, I want the highest mental health benefits, what each of the "cool" names mean and what more you get for choosing gold over bronze, etc.
The whole thing just sucks!
