Has anyone signed up for obamacare and regret it?

Does it (blue cross blue shield) cover mental health issues (therapy, pdoc). Can I keep my same therapist?

I was told 6 months ago, it would cost me $50 per month just for the premium. For me that is quite a chunk of money.

Thats all I can think of just now. Thanks.

Have you checked your state's exchange, or the federal exchange if your state doesn't have its own? That will give you a much more accurate idea of what your premiums will be, more than relying on what someone else told you. Also, if you're low-income and live in one of the states that accepted the Medicaid expansion, you may qualify for that and have little to no premium.

Private insurers are now bound by mental health parity laws, which means they have to cover mental health as adequately as they do physical health. Depending on the plan and your providers, you may still have co-pays or out-of-pocket expenses, but they can't refuse to cover mental health services. They also can't deny you coverage for pre-existing conditions anymore, including psychiatric diagnoses.

My state did not opt to expand Medicaid. What is a state exchange and a federal exchange? I know I do qualify for a subsidy. But I do not know where the money will come from.

I often wonder how the gov will pay for all the subsisies when it is trillions of dollars in debt.

Some states have opted to set up their own exchanges/marketplaces for people to shop for insurance plans. If you don't know whether your state has one, you can go to healthcare.gov and find out. If your state has its own exchange, it'll direct you there. If not, you can use the federal exchange to compare plans that are available in your state.

But frankly, if you live in a state that hasn't expanded Medicaid, you're unlikely to find anything with a premium lower than the $50 you're already paying. It sucks...so tell your governor that you want him/her to accept the Medicaid expansion so you can afford healthcare.

Your other question would involve a very long answer about economics and how the government is funded, but the basic gist is that the healthcare law is already funded. So don't worry too much about that aspect of it.

Ask your therapist which insurance policies he or she accepts.

Bonds . . . treasury bonds. They are still considered the safest investment on the planet.

"The U.S. has benefitted because other countries needed dollars as reserves and for transactions. No other market has near the depth and liquidity of the U.S. financial system, the linchpin of which is the Treasury market. Not even the loss of America's triple-A rating by Standard & Poor's reduced the attraction of U.S. government obligations."

A friend of mine on lithium for bipolar II, anorexia, and anxiety signed up for Obamacare in Texas last year. She is in her late forties, unemployed and under the care multiple pdocs and docs. Her quote was over $300 a month for a $6k deductible. Another friend in her twenties, who is employed and broke her back years ago, was very happy with her coverage.
