A little drama story as background....
The office where my meds are prescribed (IE psychologist) incorrectly billed my insurance (way back in July of 2014). They billed for treating "BPD" (which my insurance does not cover), when in fact they did not do anything for BPD, what they are treating is depression and anxiety (which my insurance does cover).

Now I am being hounded by the office to pay $240, which I should not have to pay - because THEY billed wrong. I have written them twice and spoke to them in person at least three times..... yet they continue to harass me.

I am on four meds for depression and anxiety (I know wellbutrin is one of them, I do not recall the names of the other three at the moment).

My concern is - if I do not pay the bill, I would assume that when my prescription runs out - they will not write a new prescription. Thus I will have to go off my meds.

When you wrote to them and spoke to them, what did they tell you? Did they say that they would re-bill your insurance with the correct diagnosis?

Have you checked with your insurance company to see if they have received a new claim with a different diagnosis code for the visit?

As far as not being able to get a new prescription, I don't know. You'd have to ask who you need to talk to about that. The p-doc I used to go to was in a group practice and they had a person who was in charge of prescription matters.

I think you definitely need to talk to your insurance company, though, and find out if they have heard from your doctor's office.

thanks for your input.

i have not checked with my insurance - anxiety issues prevent me from doing that.

as for what did my doctors office say about rebilling - I was told that they would rebill my insurance and I would not receive any future notices. But then this week I received one of those "final notice" letters.

Contact the doctors office again. That is your only choice at this point.
