I am at the point in my disability process where I am waiting on a hearing. I got a letter from my lawyer to request medical records from my previous doc. I am so tired of waiting. I waited a year in florida but had to move back to my home state so here I wait again another six months for a hearing. Its so frustrating. I am so ready to do this hearing and be over with this mess. is anyone else waiting on a hear from social security or have you just finished your hearing??

I haven't had any experiences with hearings. I did get SSDI pretty quickly with the help of a law firm. Something you said struck me. Your lawyer asked you to request medical records from a doctor you went to in the past? I'm wondering why the lawyer asked you to do that. That's exactly what I thought the law firm was supposed to do for you. Mine did. That's why I recommend the big nationwide firms that only do disability. I'm going to guess your attorney is a local lawyer in a small firm. That may have some advantages. The main thing is that all the records are obtained, regardless of who gets them.

Sounds like you've been through a lot. Hope the rest is over soon.
