Taking Classes in Spring of 2017
I'm wanting to try to get into a graduate school program. There is no way for me to know if I can succeed in this program if I don't try. In order to qualify to even apply for it, I must take a full semester of classes in the spring. (The classes I need are NOT offered in the fall. I have entrance exam test scores that will expire by 2018, which is one of many reasons that I cannot just wait a year to apply.) Thinking I will get a Review in March of 2017 The problem is that I think SSDI is going to review me in the middle of the spring semester because: 1. I am due for a CDR, and 2. got a work review last year in March on the anniversary of the date my SSDI started a little over 3 years ago. (My sense, after researching this, is that that work review would have been a CDR if I didn't have a job and protection from the ticket to work program at that time, and that I still have a CDR coming which will be initiated at the same time in 2017.) If I do get a review in the middle of the semester, my grades will suffer due to anxiety, etc. If my grades go bad, I will no longer qualify for the graduate program that I want to apply for (high gpa required, automatic cut off). I will not be protected by ticket to work at that time next year (trust me, I am saving space by not explaining this part here). Questions 1. Does my logic sound correct about when I will get reviewed next? 2. Do you know if there is any way that SSDI would agree to review me some other time (any time would be better than spring semester)? |

Hi JoeS21.
Have you discussed this with anyone at the university? Maybe start with financial counseling and see if they can at least point you in the right direction. Another thing is to look in your phone book for "disability" under the state government section. They should at least be able to help you get the information you need. I'm sorry I don't have anything more tangible to help you. I tried finding information for you online, but couldn't. |

Unless you got a letter from Ticket to Work (TTW) indicating that you are no longer in the program, you are still protected from CDR's. It is a very slow process even after being taking off TTW and not qualifying for it anymore before CDR's typically happen.
If you are subject to a CDR, there is no way to change when that will happen and need to complete the forms or complete the phone interview in a timely fashion by the date they indicate on the form. Meanwhile, I wish you well with your school plans. Good luck! __________________ I can be changed by what happens to me.
