so i just had a psychiatric evaluation for SSI yesterday and it went horribly. All the doctor did was diagnosis me with BPD which i know i have! but she wouldnt talk to me about my anxiety, depression, paranoia, which i feel is more why i needed to apply for ssi. And at the end she told me CBT therapy helps BPD and my insurance should cover it. but my copay is $50 and ive tried it!!! it hasnt helped!!!! so now i'm just scared i'll be denied SSI because she thinks CBT can fix me... i cant stop crying over this, i cant live without it, i have little support and my support now is tired of helping me!!! im sorry for rambling im just so scared!!! i'm so scared..

I'm on SSDI and have been for the last 4 years. I know my magic number is soon to be drawn for a review, and I am terrified of the psych review. I wish you the best of luck.

do you have a lawyer? when i was applying for ssi (may be different because i was in a psychiatric hospital at the time) i was given a free lawyer through a program (i cannot remember the name). i was able to skip the ssa's evaluations because of this and they approved me faster.

also, if you get denied the 1st time you can keep trying. most people do not get approved the 1st time.
Thanks for this!
