I am not sure how long my medcadi is good for.calling the aid office always causes me stress.one the local office never answers the phone.2 I had them call me back a month after I left them a voice mail.but I missed the phone call while I was sleeping.Their toll free number told me my medcadi is good until December but last year the same people told me the same thing but the information was wrong.i at times get a medcadi application in March or April. But several times I did not get the medicadi application in the mail.i could call the local office for hours & days with no response.even the local office gave me the wrong information a few times last year.i have to go through this every year.i live in the state of Illinois & the aid office is in a dangerous ghetto.they are never helpful.i stress over this every time.i hate calling them, going to their office etc.this is not helping my depression one bit

UCLAFan, That's so stressful!

I went thru a similar thing in January. Luckily, the receptionist at my local DSS was more help than anyone else. They changed everything around and the whole thing messed with my schizoaffective disorder. They changed my caseworker, whom I've had for years. The new form was 18 pages long! They said I was renewed. Then they said I was denied. Then they said they never received my stuff. Then they left a voicemail saying ignore the denials, everything is fine. Then they said they never said that. I was like, But I have your voicemail... So I drove down there. Got there at 3:30. The receptionist said everyone had cleared out (even though they were open until 4:30). Thankfully, she was able to get everything straightened out. Fingers crossed. I got the determination today, but haven't opened iit yet.

I hope you can get this straightened out.

I talked to a supervisor that said my medcadi & food stamps where approved on December 2016 & the reason for the confusion is it says that a few years ago in March I had a application approved.A few years ago I got cut off for a few months & that is why there is confusion.but she said I am good until the end of 2017.the supervisor on the toll free number was a lot of help.i got a lot more information from the supervisor then anyone else In years now.also my neighbor below me is on disability & aid to.well today she got her application for food stamps & medcadi today.i took a good look at her application & it looked a lot like all the questions I answered a few months ago before Christmas.plus the supervisor said if I was going to get kicked off medcadi soon it would be In my file she was looking at

I'm so glad you were able to get a definitive answer, and that it was the answer you needed.

The local office near me is in a ghetto & not safe for me to go alone.Plus the workers there are rude & no help

Prayer said.

I can see why you'd be confused. Do you have a mental health caseworker, or someone else who could help you?

It's so scary and stressful going through this, especially if you live with chronic anxiety.

I just got papers for a preliminary review of my SSDI and should get papers from DMV soon to prove I'm able to drive. Really grateful to have a dog and people from PC to help with the anxiety.

I hope you can have some relaxing fun this weekend, to break up the anxiety. If possible, try to remember that there's nothing that you can do about this on the weekend.

I have a social worker at the Epilepsy foundation.but she is really young & new.plus she is saying I might have to wait till 2-28-2017 to get a ride to the aid office.but another worker at the aid office says she can take me sooner but a person in charge says she has other things to do.but she told me she has no plans till 2 pm on Tuesday.i would rather go this week then next.waiting another week is stressful.plus I rather go with another social worker that has more experience with the aid office. Now I am getting the run around by the aid office & the epilepsy foundation.the aid office is really bad.they where on the news a few years ago when a fight broke out there
