Yes. This is a website I got a lot of help from when I was applying.

I know you're planning to take a break from therapy but if applying for SSDI with mental illness it is usually considered best to be seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist.

You're looking at it the wrong way. They don't grant you SSDI for having a disorder. They grant it to you for not being able to work. The pertinent question is: "Does your panic disorder make it impossible for you to work." If you can make a convincing argument that it does, then you can get SSDI.
First you have to have a diagnosis from a doctor. Second you have to have a history of being treated for this disorder. Third you have to demonstrate that, even with treatment, you were unable to work. |
