So I just got my first disability review packet for SSI and I'm freaking out. Can someone tell me if they think I'll lose my benefits:
-I've been in the hospital 4 times in a year -I live in a halfway house for people with MI -I haven't worked since 2014 Does anyone who has done this have any info? Thanks I'm really worried. |

I think they would be very stupid to take you off disability, given the amount of hospitalizations, where you live, and your lack of work experience. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Is this your first review? I know for me they only did one review & at that point they made it permanent. I am doing much better now.....but I am only a few months from being 65 so it would be pointless to show wellness at the point it's changing over to SOcial security.
Maybe this review will bring them to the understanding of making yours permanent too. I wouldn't worry about it. It's obvious from your current situation that you are still disabled

Something like 95% of reviews are approved and if you are denied they pay you while you appeal. I know it is scary but you've got plenty to show you still have significant symptoms and that's all they are looking for. Just remember to fill out the paperwork based on what you can't do and why it is hard instead of emphasizing what you can do (which is the natural instinct).

My experience, if nothing has changed with the diagnosis and you haven't been able to work, you should be fine. The reviews are just part of tfhe process. They need to be sure you still qualify, that's all.
I had a review after I had worked for a year and a half, but had just recently quit due to my disability. My review was still approved, even tho I had been working. Social security was aware of my working and I only went over my allowed income once, which I had to pay back that month of SSDI, which was difficult but manageable since they allowed monthly deductions from my check. I've been on SSDI since 2003, and have had reviews every 3 years. I've worked on and off, trying to see if I can, and I've never been able to keep working after awhile. Every review I've had was approved.
