I am trying to save up some money to pay to move to a different area. I want at least $1,000; right now I have about $200, and I have been saving since last spring.
I had a friend who offered to move me and also offered to drive me to the other city to check the place out; that offer has now been downsized to "I will meet you off the bus." Right now I can't even afford the bus to one city; the other place, a small town, has no bus service. I just don't see any way to make it happen. |

I wish you very well in your plan(s). I don't know what kind of advice or suggestion I can give you. For some time in my life, I had put away 10 - 20% of money I would receive. I would call that "tithing" to myself. I did that back in the times when I didn't have much. It worked for me. I feel like I didn't have to sacrifice that much, but excessive money was there in case something happened or if I needed something kind of expensive. I don't know if that would work for you, but it's just a thought.
I am a frugal person, or maybe just cheap. That's the way I've always been. But that helps, even though I have felt like I missed out on life because of being what I am. |

Thank you for replying. I call it "tithing to myself too" and I have been trying to put 10% in savings every month. But early this month I dug into my savings for a medical expense -- I was very, very grateful that I had it in savings!
