I wasn't given one at my review. She thinks cause I'm on disability I can't get one. My responsibilities have increased, the grocery store pays more. I disgruntle and want a raise.. How do I ask?

Write down what you have done to deserve a raise. You said your responsibilities have increased, so you should be able to list those. If you have done any projects that you can point to that would help your case, write those down as well. Any customers comment on your doing a good job, write that down as well. When you have your list of what you have done to help the company succeed, and how you have helped make the workplace better, then go to your manager, ask for a meeting time and then present your case. You may have to specifically ask for a raise. Say I would like a raise of x. If they say no, ask what you can do to improve so that you can receive a raise. Then ask if they will review in x months. Good luck! Hugs Kit

Your boss is correct; as far as I'm aware, you can't get a raise while on social security disability. And actually you don't want a raise. Why? Because if you are paid more, then your next SGA (social security gainful activity check amount) will either cease or be very low, amount-wise.

Do you have a social worker? You need to confirm this with your social worker.

I'm able to earn at least 2 dollars an hour more than I do. But I will ask.
