I just checked my credit report and it said there wasn't enough information to calculate a score and it said my score is zero. So a friend told me to ask my credit union about getting credit with them to help build up my credit again. I always pay my bills in full every months so that's not the issue. Anything I need to know?

I wish I had an answer for you, Moose. I have a zero credit score because I've always had everything in my husband's name and the system is cruel. I've never made enough money on my own to have my own credit. Stayed home to raise our children, then worked only part-time at a low wage job.

If you pay everything on time, if you use cash, have no loans or credit cards, then, yes. The system penalizes you with a zero credit score. Many years ago I had a friend in that same situation.
Thanks for this!

Exactly. It's disgusting.

Get a credit card that you can be approved for with not enough credit history. I posted a link that may help you figure out which to apply for.
Side by Side Credit Card Comparison

Charge something on it you can afford to fully pay off each month and don’t pay late. This builds credit history and your score will begin to rise.

This happened to my mom when my father died because the credit cards were only his accounts. I opened credit cards as my own accounts and my husband and I charged things for both our accounts (separate) over the years, building credit for us both even though he earned the money and I stayed home. I was able to build my own credit. You still can, too. You can start now by opening one in your own name (not an authorized user on your husband’s card).
