It seems to be "just" an effect of having Asperger's. My brain never matured into having a sense of gender (no it doesn't happen to all aspies but seems more common than in normals), so it's just a result of a developmental disorder. Nothing else. It's not a "thing". It's nothing to feel dysphoric about.

I should just suck it up.

I have a feeling of being gender neutral, although I display manly traits I can also be sensitive and caring. Maybe this is a new normal where empathy and caring outweigh the traditional male and female role models.

This has NOTHING to do with role models. It is NOT what gender IDENTITY is about.

Hi jimi,

this is entirely your call! If you decide agender doesn't capture how you identify, then that is how it is!

I just wanted to say that I don't believe in the concept of "true" (vs false) in this context. If you feel and identify as agender you are, regardless of what may have caused this. So even if it is an effect of Asperger's, if you feel you don't have a gender, then that's good enough for me! No such thing as "not trans enough" and nobody here should feel they have to legitimate their being on this forum!
Thanks for this!
Rand.

Yes, I basically identify as agender. But yea, I also now feel I'm not trans enough. I wish I could believe it is only to do with how you feel inside. But in NO other situation is anything totally up to me, so why should this situation be any different?

I'm sorry you're feeling that way .

NOBODY can look into your head and find out what your gender is (and whether there is any gender at all). There's no trans* test kit . So there's no one else who gets to decide this for you!
Thanks for this!
Rand.
