I finally got the nerve up to proceed with low dose T. I had to go through the whole gender goals and gender explanation with endocrine dr before he'd write the prescription. He wrote it on Tuesday, insurance now needs prior auth before they'll approve it and that will take about a week. GRRR I'm worried that they are going to come back with a... we only pay for injectable. I know, what's another week or 2 after all this time. It's more the amount of internal work I've had to do to be so public with my requests. And I finally did the leap and now I have to wait.

Oh if only there were a ''pill for every ill'' ~ that magic solution which offers us the lifestyle choice our hearts desire.

I do understand from experience exactly how difficult life really is when you are born into the wrong body, and it's heartbreaking. My wonderful man went through gender change in the 1960's, a time when it was not even touched upon by the general media. My friend went through FTM over the course of 2 years. It transpired to be the absolute BEST move he ever made.

To everybody reading, follow your hearts, as you only get one shot at life in the physical form and that time is NOW. Don't hesitate if you fully believe you will only be happy living in the gender you REALLY ARE.

I send you all much LOVE and BIG WARM HUGS, as ever.

P'S' I will try and answer any questions any of you may have. :~))))) :~))))) :~))))) :~))))) xxxxxxxxx
Thanks for this!

You know you don't have to let the insurance block anything. You can just buy it.

That seems awfully high, did you shop around at different pharmacies? Just Testosterone right?

testosterone 1 % (50 mg/5 gram) Glpk

I was surprised at the price. Do you know the general cost of that? I'll google it to see if I can find out.

Wow though. That's harsh. I can see how you'd want the insurance to cover. it.

Elio, good grief and flippin' heck!!!! I hadn't realised this essential med was so expensive!!! :~(((( :~(((( :~((((

My ''husband'' (FTM) had this treatment for decades, at the time, one intramuscular every 2 weeks and when his Dr, the only Psych Dr working with transgender at the time in the whole of England (in 1961) told him he could never stop this treatment, on no account. The medication was free on the NHS at that time, but when he and I moved from England to France, he then had to pay. So yeah, I do remember it wasn't cheap.

I so detest that just because of lack of funds, we can't make the informed choices which would change our lives entirely.

Elio, I wish you all the luck in the world, I really DO UNDERSTAND how important this treatment is to you.

Sending you much LOVE and big HUGS, as ever. XXXX :~)) :~))
Thanks for this!

UPDATE - still no drugs.... still waiting for insurance to decide if they'll cover or deny, and if deny then the fight continues another day. They think by the end of next week they should have an answer. Grumble grumble.
