I have now officially crossed over to the mental side with medicine. I am on adderall 30mg and am coming off wellbutrin 300mg while starting 20mg lexapro. The wellbutrin has made my mood fluctuate especially with getting angry. Have any of you used this and what have the results been? My psych said it was clear that I was very anxious and that the NPD has made my thought process pretty bad with reactions. She also said I have anxiety but show it in a different way. She feels anger may be an outcome due to keeping the anxiety in without showing like many others do. She said that the lexapro will calm me down and take the edge off. Thoughts????

I don't have NPD so I don't know how helpful I will be. But I am on Adderall and I have been on Wellbutrin and Lexapro. I was never on the Wellbutrin at the same time as Adderall though... I remember I tried it for focus and weight management, but I developed hand tremors and stopped it. I also know, from my experience, that the Adderall increases my anxiety (I have really fun side effects like uncomfortably quick heartbeat and shortness of breath). But for me, it's totally worth it because it helps me focus. My anxiety manifests in a different way- I don't get angry, I just shut down.

The Lexapro worked really well for me for around 3 years. My pdoc said that sometimes antidepressants need to be changed/stop being effective after some time (I forgot how she explained it). But it definitely leveled me out. I also took Abilify w/ my Lexapro for a little bit and that really helped to stabilize me. Good luck w/ the lexapro and keep us updated!

This is exactly what I do. My anxiety usually translates straight to rage in my mind!

Good luck with the meds. Medications are always a crap-shoot, but I do hope you've found the right combination and can get to feeling better!
