Say a person views the ones he loves or claims to love. As his own personal property much in the sense of how a child views a doll. The person treats the people in his life with love and care while insisting on having shall we say an uncomfortable level of influence on their lives. Is this a form of narcissism, a extremely possessive personality, or a both?

I'm not sure, but it could be some narcissism--and an overly controlling personality.

I think you're talking about objectification. And yes it can be a trait of a person with npd.
I view people in 3 ways....people who have benefit to me, stand in my way, or insignificant.
Thanks for this!
