Hey there

I'd say that as an anxiety disorder, OCD can definitely lead to panic attacks, or include panic attacks. I have panic attacks quite often (1-2 per week, sometimes more or less) and it's often after I've been obsessing about something.

Do you have a T that you can talk to about your panic attacks? I'm sure there are some techniques to get through panic attacks more easily, maybe even to prevent them. (I'm not sure though, I've never discussed panic attacks with my old T).

Panic attacks are really crappy to go through, I hope you can find some way to make them happen less frequently.

Ocd can cause panic attacks. I am struggling with the same thing. I try to control the ocd and when I try not to give in, the panic attacks start. It is an endless cycle. I discussed with my doctor last week. He put me on a med for my ocd to be taken permanently. I had stopped taking my med because I was feeling better. He told me not to do that anymore because I needed it. He, also, gave me something for the panic attacks.

Talking to a doctor and a therapist do help. They can help you get better.

Hi Coko, Sorry to hear about your current crisis and as I immediately read your post I thought id reply as i am currently going thru exactly the same issues with panic attacks associated and exacebated by OCD! I have been experiencing very harsh heart beats and my breathing has been eratic, poor concentration and marathons of sleepless nites(3 days in a row so far).Ive been concentrating on my breathing as erratic as its been and have managed to eliviate some of the tension in particular in my chest region, in slowly working on it and I try to improve my posture when my breathing becomes erratic as well as isolating myself from external and environmental intersections so my mind doesnt become more cluttered with events..Although perhaps ones individual experience varies from person to person I hope you find some relief.Take care and hope issues and health improves for you. Bluzman!

Yeah that does sucks trying to catch your breathing and ocd and panic attacks are worse with both of them. And panic attacks and ocd can be rough and it scarey when you have them in public .Do you have the sweating and the bad headaches and feel like you are dying .I have to deal with social anxiety and panic attacks along with ocd.And I tried so many things like excersing and breathing in and out .
