|
I am a checker, orderer, and a hoarder. these cobintaions are making my life completely crippling, and my family around me and well as my children, PPlease give me any insight on what to do. I am starting on a new med tomorrow through my psychologist, the behavior therapy did not work at all it made it worse.

Hi croutl01, Sorry about your condition I too have this debilitating condition..I just wanted to know if this is your first time on medications and if not what have you been on before?????...You saiD behaviour therapy didnt work...was that Cognative behaviour therapy??????Please you can PM me if you like I will endevour to share my experience about ocd and support you regarding any concerns

Hi croutl01, and welcome to the OCD forum. I too suffer from OCD, just a different kind (mostly obsessions, minor compulsions). I'm sorry that this condition is crippling to you, as well as the people you love.
 Sending hugs your way, if that's OK!You mentioned that a certain type of therapy didn't help you. Could you ask your psychologist if there's any other types of therapy you could try to help your OCD? I went through two types of therapy to assist mine. I'm also curious, which med are you starting? I hope it works for you! |

My roommate struggles with OCD and has been so debilitating. Meds didn't help as much for her as the DBT- Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I don't know if this is the behavior therapy that made it worse or if it was CBT but her quality of life has changed significantly. Hang in there!

I struggle with the same thing. It really hinders me and I feel like banging my hand against the wall. I do take medication. I just hate having OCD and Panic Disorder. UGH!!!!
