I bought the OCD Workbook (per my therpiast) but I am looking for some other books other find helpful. I have few compulsions, but my OCD manifests itself mainly in obsessions if that helps with book recs.

Thank You!

I heard 'My life In Rewind' is a good book. It follows the illness of a famous football player, who learns to manage his OCD and live a good life. The authors are Jeneki and Zines.

Thanks for the quick reply! I just added it to my library list, I hope they carry it!

You're welcome - I love your avatar with the Lilly of the Valley flowers. Reminds me of when I was child we had them in our garden - they smell so nice.

I recently had finished the OCD workbook and I'm about halfway through "Tormenting Thoughts and Secret Rituals". It's a bit older (Late 90's), and it has much of the same information as the workbook, but it has a few extras (slightly more in depth discussions of specific cases) that I've found to be worth the time and money... it's nice to read about others with the same condition, how they were treated, and how they progressed and overcame.

I liked Tormenting Thoughts and Secret Rituals, too.

Trying to do the behavior therapy on one's own is very tough, though. I can't get a doctor who does it with you.

I like Howie Mandel's book, Here's the Deal: Don't Touch Me. You'll laugh yourself silly while being educated.
Thanks for this!

Oh, yeah! I read that book. Normally, I don't buy hardcover books, and I rarely read biographies, but I read his because of the OCD thing. I would have liked more OCD stories, but the book was good, anyway.

When in Doubt, Make Belief by Jeff Bell? http://metapsychology.mentalhelp.net...dex.php?cn=159

He wrote an autobiography and this is the follow-up of what methods he actually used to work with his OCD.
