ok some times when I am doing anything like watching a tv show or playing a game or doing other stuff I seem to focus on a word or a phrase and spell it out in my head while moving my head like the letters would be writen like if I get the word 'hot' in my head I would go H move my head in the form of a H, O move my head in the form of an O and so on. do you think this could be a small sign that I could have OCD? if it does mean I could have OCD what should I do about it?
thanks guys hope you can help ![]() |

Well, yeah, it's a form of OCD, but how much time of your day does the behaviour take up? What will happen, will you feel anxious if you try to stop the behaviour?
If you experience intense distress over it, you should seek help. also if you have other "rituals" that you feel you HAVE to keep doing. Sometimes it's just a phase and other times the OCD can grow and become an obstacle. You could read some books about it or use "response prevention" - try to force yourself to not do the behaviour and the anxiety will surely drop after a while. it's unpleasant but in the long run, it works.

It is about awareness of what is so real and essential, so hidden in plain sight all around us, that we have to keep reminding ourselves, over and over: "This is water, this is water." - Wallace |
