Hi everyone.I'm new here as of yesterday. Finally get to post in this section.

I've had ocd since 2006.I also have chronic fatigue sundrome (cfs) since 2000.I am agoraphobic to add to my woes.

I remember the exact moment it started. It felt like a little electricity ran across the top of my head.I knew right then I was in for a bad experience.
I felt things change from that moment onward.

I had gone out to the letterbox to grab the junk mail(store catalogues),brought them inside, placed them on a bench.I'll read them later.About 90 minutes later I tried to pick them up.It waas as though an intense fear wouldnt let me do it.I froze.I didnt pick them up.This happened at rando \m from that moment on.

I had to leave so many things where they were.It got worse. It affected me in my daily grooming. The next day I felt weird.I got stuck wearing the same clothes I had on the day before.I couldnt shave, couldnt brush my teath, could shower, couldnt wash my hair.It just kept getting worse.Within weeks I couldnt do any grooming and I was looing a mess.My appearance had changed.I was no longer well groomed.I was a slob.

I saw a guy several years before 2006,around 1993.He was in business. He looked a mess and in pain.He hadnty shaved, hadnt trimmed his hair, hadnt cut his toenails, fingernails. In fact his grooming didnt exist.Fast forward to 2006 and I'm now like that.I found out about a year ago the guy told me he had ocd.

Here's how ocd affects me:
unable to cut my hair,shave,trim my beard,shave,trim fingernails/toenials,facial hair,etc.
unable to prepare food/cook food/eat food when I'm on my own.
unable to change my clothing.I had worn the same clothing for years everyday.Unable to change into clean or new clothing.
unable to remove recyclables, rubbish from my home.
unable to remove anything from my fridge/freezer.
unable to replace my bed linen with clean/new bed linen.
Unable to wash my clothing, bed linen, etc.

In 2007 I started looking around to find any alternative health practitioners.I had heard about kinesiology.I decided to try that.Over 2 years I had about 4 different kinesiologists. One who combined kinesiology and rebirthing. It helped.I finally found a practitioner who does muscle testing and various techniques.I'm one of 3 clients of his that has ocd.I've never met the other 2.I had a weird day yesterday and had a treatment.

Now,as for progress,I've been making progress big time.Just these last 8 months has changed my life. Most of the rituals are gone.MNost of the things I cant do or being prevented from doing I can now do.I used to be underweight.I've put on around 4 pounds each week for the last 3 weeks.I weight more now than I ever did since late 2006.

I look like me know.My grooming is back on track.I can cook meals, eat meats on my own since christmas day.I wear new clothing since the day after christmas.Even though my practitioner and I kept in contact every few days lately he finally saw all those changes while he was here yesterday.

I dont know if there;s a proper name for this variant of ocd.I never heard of what its caled.I never found anyone else.I mean I only started getting into forums around November 2012.

If you have similar experiences to me please compare notes.I dont mind if you do.If you want to reply no matter what, please do.

As I'm in several forums for ocd, cfs, etc I usually put my first name at the end of a post.Is that allowed here? For now,I'll abreviate my username.

Regards Den.

wow Den,, i have had similar experiences, even to the tingling at the top of my head, and then the onset of inexplicable behaviors and avoidances~! i suffered without help for many years, until someone recommended a sound system that causes the brain to repair and rebalance itself, called Holosync. you can read more about it at CenterPointe.com. it's a long term program, and a little bit expensive, but i have also recovered from bipolarism and panic disorders.

good to hear your story~ best wishes
Gus

Hi Gus.

I'm sure that tingling was the cause of of our respective problems.I wonder if it has a name.

I've found that muscle testing trained chiropractors are the best start to treat the damage from this tingling/electricity thing.I'm almost cured of ocd.I've had this chiro since JUly 2009.He has got rid of so many problems.

They start with muscle testing various pressure points around the torso. This determines which organs in the torso need to be activated to make them work better. This makes the body function properly. Its very healthy.Just call it a human tune up.They activate one at a time then retest them.

Once all the torso pressure points are tested/adjusted they move on and muscle test around the head. This is where it takes time. This gets the brain tuned up.Anything thats faulty will show up and can be corrected.

I'll look at that website after. Thanks for the reply.I like the message with the fireplace. Its hot here, over 100 degress farenheit today. We've had a heatwave here in Australia over the last few weeks.

You are welcome to keep in contact. You are the first persion who can relate to that tingle/electricity thing.

Regards Chris.

Wow. I never knew that OCD could have an onset later in life. I always thought that anyone with OCD was probably like that as a child.

I guess I'm going by my own experience. I've not been diagnosed with OCD. I just have a trait in that direction that is a bit beyond what most consider normal. My parents told me I had that tendency from the time I was a toddler. But it has gotten worse over time. I've gotten much more worried about removing dust from everything. Of course, that started after I moved to a very dusty region of the world.

In other ways though, I seem to be getting "stuck" more. So maybe your story is illuminating for me. It shows me that some serious problems can start later in life. Things are getting a lot tougher for me. They do involve issues of grooming and housekeeping.

That's good to hear that you have been able to improve so much. I'm glad you were able to find helpful treatment.

A tough problem for me has been accumulating piles of paperwork and then unable to get it sorted out. This started when I was a kid. It got much worse over the past 12 years. At times, I feel in despair of ever getting myself organized.

Hi Rose.
I never thought about any health issue stems from childhood. For me it happened 6 years ago.I had to spend the money to find a way to get rid of it.Not something to be devoted to for life.

I'm making big progress.Almost cured of ocd now.I'm making so much progress especially these last 8 months being the best and the busiest.

If you contact your local chiropractic association and look for chiros who do various forms of muscle testing techniques. That should help you.Thats how I got where I am in my progress.

My chiro was trained in the USA for several year.He didnt want to be just a chiro. He wanted to go further. You should be able to find the associatuions online then ring them.Find a chiro who is near to your home so you dont have to travel many miles. If its up to a 30 minute drive you should find a few.You can always send me a private message with the links.I'll see if I can find an association.
Thanks for this!
