Did anyone with trichotillomania pull the "fur" out of stuffed animals or dolls as a kid? I've heard that children use their dolls as sort of stand-ins for themselves and observing their treatment of these toys gives insight into how the children see themselves. I'm wondering if perhaps my doing this was an early expression of a hair-pulling compulsion. Anyone out there have similar experiences or insight into this behavior?
