I just read something online and it is a total shock to me.. I never EVER thought about it this way... is this true? Please answer, someone... heck, a doctor or professional of sorts would be awesome.

Thanks! I was looking stuff up because it's a related to a very similar issue I have, or think I have.. or something.. IDK.. it's pertinent.

Evidently you've stumped us here with this one. Maybe you could see what interesting responses you might get when you post on the sexual forum.

This is directly relevant to OCD, and because of its nature, I'd prefer it to be here. The post wasn't about sexual assault; that was simply someone's example, but I am curious about whether that particular thing is true, however, I have no attention of troubling victims with such a disturbing question.

I understand. Actually, I was thinking of the forum we have here about sexual issues in general. People post questions about orgasms, etc. Of course, we also have a forum for people who have been sexually abused.
It's certainly up to you if you want to give folks more time to respond on this forum. ![]() |

Another thing to look into is mirror neurons. When a person sees someone doing something, the same areas in their brain tend to be activated as would if they were participating.

"Harm OCD" is diagnosed when the person has an intense fear of becoming violent with loved ones, strangers, and even themselves. The person has an inflated sense of responsibility for the safety of others. These thoughts lead to compulsions such as avoidance behavior, reassurance seeking by means of confessing, and even doing something like touching an object over and over to keep from possibly carrying out any harm.
Well, I've gotten that part answered anyway! ![]() |

:O Holy crap... wouldn't surprise me if they tell me I have that. -.- Basically described my OCD perfectly.

If so, then at least you can get some treatment.

My husband has OCD that is often sexual, he fears being attracted to men and sometimes he will feel his body respond to seeing a man as if he was aroused. It is absolutely possible for your body to respond this way, even natural. If I were to sit here and worry/obsess about being attracted to women, all the while congering images of women in explicit positions to check myself, my body would most likely respond to such thoughts, but my mind would be repulsed.
People's body respond sexually to sexual thoughts/actions. Quite simple |
