I hate even numbers. They make me feel wrong. Yet, everything I do in ritualistic repetitions has to be in fours.

Have a bad thought? Knock four times. Bang my knuckles for times against wood.

Walk from your bedroom door to your bed four times, then make it to bed on the fourth step back. If wrong, begin again.

See bad things, intrusive thoughts. Rock four times x eight. Everyone will live. You will be fine.

Guilt. Knock four times until you've knocked or banged four times eight times total.

Alone? Rock for times.
Eating? Chew your food four + four times.
Drinking? Four sips.

This is consuming. And yet I find safety in it. God.

I hate even numbers too.
I don't count to four though.
I count to an odd number and then in intervals of two, to keep it odd.
But, I avoid the number 13 of course.
Like you, I find it consuming but it makes me feel safe.

I hate the number 4 so much which is why this boggles me! It was never in even numbers, it was always in odds (like I had to wash my hands 67 times a day when I was younger, I had to tap 39 times, etc) so this one is just... ugh. So frustrating yet so soothing.

67 times a day?
6 and 7 is 13 though.
And 3 and 9 makes an even number.

I mean, I was 7 when that compulsion began so I don't think I ever saw it that way.

7 is my favourite number.
I can't remember the age I started counting everything. My memory is not that good.

It feels like it has always been that way though, right? I feel like there was never a time where I didn't do it. Agh.

Primes seem to be the thing, so far as I can tell- so two, three, five... But seventeen… that is a crazy number.
Runner up is twenty three. I don't recall who posted that.

everything used to be 67 for me. I honestly am still trying to fathom how I broke that habit.

My logic... hah... "logic"... is to do/say/think something 3 times, then again, and again, so it's 3 3 3, which is 3, 3s... kinda the perfect combo, or if I am especially mad, I'd go 3 3 3, 3 3 3, 3 3 3, which is basically like:

3 3 3
3 3 3
3 3 3

The perfect 3 grid. OCD is brilliant, right?

Oh god, I do the same thing! If It's just a compulsion it is

4
4
4
4

But if I am anxious it becomes

4 4 4
4 4 4

If I am having an intrusive thought

4 4 4 4
4 4 4 4
4 4 4 4
4 4 4 4

Oh OCD, you never fail to amaze me.

Yeah me too.. I always thought I was so weird cause I'd be combining all these numbers all the time just like that.
Then if you mess up start all over again.

Messing up is so frustrating. I usually mess up RIGHT before I complete the number ritual because I have it in my head that I will -_-

I hate even numbers as well. And I always do things in 3s...it may or may not be a coincidence that I'm the 3rd kid in my family...

I think I do even numbered rituals as some form of self punishment? I honestly don't get it, why else would I stick to a number I HATE?

God, brains are ridiculous.

When I bought my phone and had to chose the number, I gave the salesman hell.
