I struggle with body dysmorphic disorder and ocd. I've had obsessions with my weight and starving myself in the past. I'm currently struggling with other body image preoccupations that I've been obsessed about for the past few years. I'm not currently obsessing about my weight but I've been wondering what's the difference between the thought processes of Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Eating Disorders. I know the symptoms are different but I was wondering how much they fit into the same category? I've also been looking online for a Body Dysmorphic support group and I haven't been able to find much.

There are some similarities, especially the obsessive and compulsive part common to certain eating disorders and also body dysmorphic disorder. But the whole thing is quite complex and there are differences so I would personally recommend you try to join the right group and try to ask around doctors and other groups in your local area till you find something.
