after a week you cannot really tell the real effect of SSRI. You may be experiencing placebo effect in the first week (because you are getting help and expect to feel better). If you wanna use these drugs to treat your condition, you should stick with them for few weeks to be able to judge the full effect.

well, i dont stop them after on week, i continued them for a month but the benefits went away after a week. i mean shouldnt they continue to work in an stable way?
you take an antidepressant and you start to feel better. so why do they stop working? specially the first week i feel hypomanic and i have a lot of racing thoughts.but then i feel depressed again. does that men im biopolar or it could be a side effect of ssri?

You probably need higher dose (you should get the needed dose gradually) and if it's still not working that particular AD is not good match.

Or you may have fast metabolism that burns off the drugs fast (I heard that happens with some people).

A month is a too short time. Your doc must have told you this.
