Does anyone else shake objects when they escape into fantasy worlds? I've done it at times for many years. I got in trouble as a kid when adults in the family caught me. They'd just tell me to not do it anymore. I understood from a young age it was inappropriate so I'd hide but that doesn't mean I'm over it.

im not really clear by what you mean by shaking objects and how that ties into escaping into a fantasy world. i did create a fantasy world which i still escape to to this day. i am too embarrassed to even tell t about it.

yes, I have always had my escapist fantasy worlds and as a kid I used to do compulsive stuff like bouncing a ball, tapping, counting, shaking, when I escaped to them. this is quite typical OCD behaviour.

What I would do is shake an object like a toy or wooden spoon, etc. while thinking about fantasies in my head. Sometimes I would think of myself and others I know as characters in the fantasies and sometimes I would make up all of the characters. I could do this for hours upon hours on end until someone or something needs my attention.
