Hello, brothers and sisters. Lately, I have been having these unwanted thoughts and sexual thoughts that pop up inside my head and I feel guilty because of that and I try to keep the thoughts away with more thoughts and phrases that I keep repeating to myself. But the problem is I am so preoccupied with the counter thoughts that I end up wasting my day just worrying about these unwanted thoughts and trying to keep them away. I also try to write out positive, counter thoughts to keep the negative thoughts away but that also ends up taking much of my time. I am also unable to concentrate on what people are saying or what I read because I am too occupied with my thoughts. Is it OCD ? or is it normal? or is it part of my Schizophrenia ? and how can I stop feeling like this.
Thanks for this!

This is a great question here robbi15.

I need to be careful with the wording of my response.

As my response is a personal opinion only.

What I see is an obsession over the "thought" of sex; as opposed to you actually fulfilling the act. If you were fulfilling the act, I'd probably be responding more along the lines of hypersexuality only (not that I'm necessarily eliminating that either; I'm just ignoring that phaset altogether because I simply don't know).

I have found a good article here on PsychCentral on Obsessions and Addiction written by Darlene Lancer. It is a 5 minute read.

Have a look and see what you think:

that sounds like ocd i do something similar try not to counter the bad thoughts and just sit with them even though it will make you anxious after a while the anxiety should drop and hopefully the issue will somewhat dissolve.

I think most of the human beings have at least mild obsessions on daily basis. In your case these are now not normal so these are form of pure obsessions and these are tending to become OCD.
I think you Should take appropriate Herbal and Exercise Remedies initially and yes You should not feel bad to consult with psychiatrist.
You are at initial stage so you can recover soon by keeping some natural precautions in mind.
