Does anyone else do this? I've also seen it referred to as "mucus fishing." I do it all day, but sometimes it gets to the point where I'm spending hours a night looking in the bathroom mirror and picking. My eyes are glued together in the morning and are constantly red and swollen.

I have a runny eye and I have to be very careful not to touch it or this starts. It happens when I sleep from the pressure of the pillow on the eye. It's just awful. I've been losing lashes trying to roll away the hard rocks that form. Try not to touch it and it should clear up. Ask a doctor about it too.

For the past few months, I can't stop touching my eyelashes. Not even picking to pluck them out, but they're coming out slowly. But it's developed now into picking my eyes too, constantly picking out eye goop from the corners and underneath the lash lines. Then I can't stop that because once you get a little goop out, what if there's more. But I have a feeling that constantly doing it has made more. It's been tough.

That's how I started too. The more you touch the goop, the worse it gets. Mine started with an eye infection when I was 12.
