Does anyone else has a strong dislike of getting ink on their hands or tattoos? I hate the idea of touching them and can't deal with getting an ink stamp on my hand or pen marks on me. I would never get a tattoo. They do put me off men although I did like a guy recently who had them. Could this be contamination OCD? I don't have any other form of it. Does anyone else get this?

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Having a dislike for tattoos or getting markings on yourself doesn't mean you necessarily have OCD or any other disorder. If you're experiencing issues that interfere with your day-to-day life, then you should see a professional and reach out for help.

I have other forms of OCD which is why I am asking. I don't have any other contamination OCD. This makes me wonder if it's just a personal dislike. I have always had it since I was a child. I'm not aware that my body is 'dirty' when I have ink on them, it's just something I hate. I don't like the parts of my hands covered in ink touching food though so I must be worried about chemical contamination. Thanks for the reply.

Not wanting to get ink on you doesn't strike me as strange, let alone OCD. Not liking tattoos is a personal preference just like not liking make-up or shaved heads.

Allow yourself to have an opinion without worrying that there's something wrong with you because of it.

I suspect not getting a tattoo is a personal preference. Are you left handed. I know being one myself I'm constantly getting ink on my hands.

I feel like it really depends on how much distress it causes you? I'm diagnosed with OCD (primarily checking, counting, derma & trich, violent/harm) and I find that, while contamination is not my primary area of obsessions, I have some triggers in that area? Same with a few other areas that don't usually bug me. For example, I'm thrown into repetitive hand washing when I get laundry detergent on my hands because of an excessive fear of chemical burns but contamination is almost a non-issue for me otherwise.

Basically, I feel like this could definitely be related to your OCD because OCD isn't restricted to the areas you usually have your problems in.

No. I'm not left handed. I don't know what it is but I hate them. I can't deal with having ink on my hands so I think it's related to OCD. xx
