Anyone take meds for skin-picking? My pdoc prescribed Rexulti to help.
Thoughts on how long it takes to notice a decrease in obsession? And good stories? Thanks!

Hi, I hope the Rexulti helps you. For me, skin-picking is an anxiety issue and since no meds have really helped to decrease my anxiety, nothing has helped with the skin-picking, either. But Rexulti is not one I've been on.

Thanks. Anxiety definitely is a trigger for my skin picking, but there's also the element of OCD in that I do the random body scan unconsciously. I'm hoping the new med helps, but I'm not sure how long it should take.

I just started the Rexulti for my depression a month ago. A couple of days ago my doctor said it may help with skin picking if we increase the dose. I’ve only taken the new dose three times so nothing yet. I really hope it helps. I was on another medication for skin picking about two years ago. It was like a miracle drug for the first six weeks. Then it stopped working. We increased the dose but it never worked again. I thought I was crazy but my doctor told me that does happen with that drug. I don’t know what’s worse. Never having had clear skin, not knowing what it felt like or knowing for six weeks how much happier I was and spending years longing for that feeling again. I hope it worked for you and I hope it works for me too.
