Welcome to MSF @Luludavis1229 that is a good question. A lot depends on the person and how much they want to get over it. What kinds of things do you do that you consider OCD?

Hi @Luludavis1229, I'm coming to this thread several months after the fact, but your post spoke to me as I've suffered from similar things throughout my life. To answer your initial question, yes it can definitely get better. But I think how and to what extent depends on a certain kind of understanding of why you feel you have to do these things. I imagine it might be very difficult, but if there's a way for you to see a therapist (if you're not already) it would be good to be able to talk about what you're going through. Something that stuck out to me in your second post is that you said you have to clean the whole house before you can sit down and relax. I'm sure you already have an understanding of why you can't relax before you clean the house, but the problem with OCD I think is that, in a way, understanding itself gets out of control. It might be helpful to be able to talk with someone who can help you manage your symptoms while you're exploring your own thinking, in order to safely identify what, if anything, is the root cause.
