I seem to replay conversations over and over in my head until i am literally sick with a headache and queasy stomach. My worry is with the person i have a conversation with. I am wondering if they meant something other than what i heard. For instance, i went to see my Pdoc today, and everything seemed to be going smoothly until conversation about my meds. I was very attentive to what he was saying, and i wasn't nervous acting, just very alert because i felt good.

He asked if i was ok on the dosage of a certain medication, and i explained to him that i was. He also said i seem to be doing well, because i told him i was doing well. In which he stated " i guess we wont change any of your medications since you are doing fine".

Now i just can't stop thinking why would he even say we wont change any of your medications.
Was he considering it? I don't know!! Was he just making a statement, and i am just reading to much into it? I can't stop thinking about this, and its driving me nuts.

Is this just a nonsensical obsession, and all this i really nothing, and something i just created in my head?
Thanks for any replies

To me, it sounds like the OCD talking. Do you have any strategies for when you start feeling like you are getting into that repetitive cycle? I'm not sure what sort of treatment you are doing/have done but sometimes what I try to do is sort of have a conversation with myself and play out my worst case scenario. So like, what am I worried about? Why might he say what he said? What if he had been considering changing your meds and decided not to? When then? It doesn't always work, but sometimes it helps me get to the root of the anxiety and then I can figure out what to do from there. And keep in mind, sometimes there's nothing you can do but sit with the anxiety, as awful as it is.

Thanks for the response Miswimmy1.
My pdoc did ask me if i was ok at a certain dosage, so i will assume he wasn't planning on discontinuing what i was taking. The dosage of this medication was already very low, so if anything he might of been thinking an increase in dosage. I'll just assume this though. Is this how you or anybody else here would read into it?
Thanks

Usually if I say I'm doing good the pdoc doesn't change anything. Don't get to worried about it.

Thanks Teddy Bear for the response. Do you think that my pdoc was possibly thinking of an increase, since i was on a low dose already? A discontinuation or decrease wouldn't make much sense, since he asked me if i was ok at the dosage i am at. Is this the way you or others would perceive this?
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback Teddy Bear,

Is this the way others feel? Is it normal for a pdoc to state that we won't change any of your meds since your doing good?

Thanks

I suffer from severe OCD (rituals, checking, and Pure O), so I know exactly how your thoughts are processed. To this day, I question every conversation I have with my pdoc.

The answers is Yes. If you state you're doing OK, then the meds will stay the same.

This is why every conversation with your pdoc is important. He/she cannot read minds, so their prescriptions can only go as far as what you tell them.
