How do you get the white quote box to show a prior post? I have been clipping and pasting. Thanx

Two ways. First is when reading YOUR post and up in the top right are three buttons: edit, reply, and quote. To start this post I hit the quote button which automatically quoted your entire post.

Second way is when you are using the reply button up right (instead of the quote) to open up a new window with the Instant Smilies and the Instand UBB Code both over on the right hand side of the window.

If I go over to the UBB Code area there is a blue (live linked in my browser) link that says Quote. Click on that and it will give you this: [ quote ] [ /quote ] (I've added extra spaces on either side of the brackets to show you what will come up.

Now I'm actually going to use the quote feature to use your post. After bringing up the [ quote ] brackets I then copy and paste whatever of your post in between the quote and /quote brackets.

Have I confused you more? Sorry, new Hope this helps Toph. And this is nothing to be sorry about. We're all new in one way or another and after such a 'stark' board this one is like bells and whistles and has so many options. I felt overwhelmed at first at all my options here!! But you get used to it and I find a smilie in the right place can make all the difference in helping get a point across! like this one of people saying Go Toph!! ---> Sorry, new

I mean you are nice and all and your family appears loving and supportive but a PWD is an auto in with me! Sorry, new

we have to make use of the limited smilies we have so the mob demostration can be a happy one or an unruly one.

Mine was meant to be a cheerleading Go Toph Go! as in rah rah! not a pitchfork wielding mob Sorry, new

Good to know, __zh, those frowns had me confused for a second. Sorry, new As for Gus, would you please tone it down a bit? He rules the roost here, and he does not need a bigger head than he has. I overslept this morning only to wake up to Gus giving me three swift paw punches in the back with the leash in his mouth. Please tell me I did the right thing by telling him no. I often had to tell the kids no when they brought me the keys. Topher

Hey Toph,
Pardon my eyes, but what kind of dog is Gus? He looks so cute!

at least he is only bringing you the leash and not the leash AND keys! And yes you did the right thing by telling him no. Oversleeping on a weekend sounds like a luxury you needed. For someone like me with insomnia currently oversleeping sounds preferable!

as for the kids when they were younger coming at you carrying the keys for you to play taxi......that's what door locks are for Topher! Sorry, new

Didn't someone in another thread say we're all new at one time or another. Be patient and take your time. I registered in fall 03 and lurked until spring 04 before I ever posted. This place takes a while to get used to and to play around with the different codes and smilies. Trust me when I say I was overwhelmed at first. Jumping flashing things are distracting to me and sometimes I do disable that within my browser settings.

I'm glad to see ya post. For me I could stand to use some of the manage threads features available to better know where I've posted. I post in some forums that I am not usually reading frequently and then come upon a thread of mine from way back and feel like a doofus. I think there are almost 30 forums here. I'm lucky if I can remember my password [mynextdogwillbeapwd Sorry, new guess I shouldn't write that Sorry, new ] let alone read more than a few forums with regularity.

I'm doin' my best each day.....sounds like you are too!

always a pleasure sir.

Gus is a Portuguese Water Dog. Thanks for asking, gg. They are swimmers, bright, active and very loyal. He is a wonderful companion and has enriched my life tremendously.

Here he is as a pup:
