I had been wondering about the same thing awhile ago....never got the actual formula used to calculate it, but it has to do with the percentage of posts to the time here at PC.

Sort of like fast & furious posting vs slow & steady....lol.

I have been here almost 5 years now & only post a few posts per day.....definitely SLOW like a turtle.

Hi ((Teary_me)),

Wow, 34 posts in one day? LOL...that's a lot of work!

I would love to give you mine! That would be kind of cool if we could give each other badges like presents.

I noticed the "super poster" thingy next to my post count I think on my 2nd day here. I might have been furiously posting during a manic episode, though...I don't know if I should have been rewarded for that. LOL.

I wonder if it goes away if you don't post for awhile? Anyway, I'll ask if you can have mine.

How do you get the magical title of "super poster"? I have more posts than some ppl that have the magical title and have been on PC longer.

Let me try to explain.

It basically means you make alot of posts within a short period of time.

For example - Say someone joined up, and within a month they had say, 2000 posts. They would be a superposter probably because they made so many posts within a short period of time.

Now say someone else who has been here 3 years has 2000 posts. Although they have made alot of posts. it was over a very long time, so they are not as frequent in posting. They would probably not be a super poster.

The key to being a superposter is to post LOTS of posts EVERY DAY. That will eventually get you to the superposter status. But depending on how long you have been here, if its been a while, just one day of lots of posts wont do it. It has to be consistant frequent posting for quite a while.

Does that help it make sense? Or did i just confuse everyone more?
Thanks for this!

from memory, i think you get superposter status when you post approx 4 posts (at least) each day.

so if you have been here for one year already, then you would need to have 1460 posts (=365x4). it's not necessary that you have posted consistently every day, but say if you miss 2 days of posting, then you would have 8 posts to catch up. it's the average that counts.

please don't quote me on that number, but it's what i recall from when i joined PC at the beginning of the year and got the superposter status. but i am fairly sure it is around that mark.

Thanks for all the info. I found the "list" at the start of the thread very helpful!

I'd need to post a ton of posts to get to superposter status.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
