When it's getting warm, I get so excited. I want to be outside all of the time. I love to walk by the water and collect rocks (although I know nothing about rocks). I love to hike, etc.

What do some of you like to do outside? I want some ideas for this year please. I've been in a really bad depression this winter and I can't wait to be outside 24/7...will be the best medicine for me What's Your Favorite Spring Activity???

thanks!

The smells of spring are the best....I inhale to the point of dizziness. Oh yeah, I'm always dizzy...or is that ditzy?

The smell of wet dirt, garden center green houses full of spring flowers, the woods starting to wake up, even the smooshed worms on the road smell good to me!

See...I'm part dog, so it's all about the smells.

I love to go down the beach. My family has a beach home.

Since they have a home we can enjoy it through the spring-summer and fall.

I love to walk along the beach. Since I was a little kid ever summer I was raised 3months out of the year there.

I enjoy it most with my son and my family.

Also, besides the beach there is the boardwalk that brings back a lot of memories

I like to sit on the back porch/deck in a comfy chair under the trees and read while I watch the kids play in the backyard. There is a bird feeder near the deck and so there is usually lots of birds around. I really like it when the breeze brings along the great smell of all the flowering trees/plants etc. And of course it is always hilarious to watch the dog try and catch the squirrel who is trying to steal from the bird feeder. The dog never gives up her quest and neither does the squirrel.

ONE of my favourite springtime activities is watching the prairie dog mommas introduce their babies to the outside world...they bring them up, out of the burrow, and show them off. If the baby strays too far from the burrow, as kids will do, the momma runs over and gets them and sometimes cuffs them up side the head.....the little ones run with their little black-tipped tails straight up..I know Spring has arrived when I see the babies.

When i was a kid i liked to play in all the puddles and flooded drains. Now that it's not "appropriate" to do myself.. What's Your Favorite Spring Activity??? ..i like to take my dog for a walk in places where there's lots of water and mud and so on. Then i can just watch her enjoy spring, i of course end up with an extremely muddy, smelly dog, but it's worth it What's Your Favorite Spring Activity??? ..She loves water, she just jumps in the drain not even knowing how deep it is, so sometimes she even swims in the middle of the last bits of ice What's Your Favorite Spring Activity??? ..she jumps out and back in again, she uses drains for a running track and puts her nose down like she was plowing the water What's Your Favorite Spring Activity??? (she always ends up with this dirt made hitler moustache)
Also when i go riding i try to make Windy run trough all the puddles. Though he has his own opinion about that...

Good question Kimmy!!!!

I love the spring most of all for lots of reasons. I love the blooming flowers and trees. It reminds me of life and how awesome it is. The little things that people dont notice are often the most beautiful.
I love to sit in the warm rain and let it flow. Weird, I know but its very very calming in a way. I love to smell the change of season. You can really smell how beautiful life is. Gosh, I love spring!!!

Spring ='s sneezing/ coughing, losing my voice and sore watery eyes.
But hey on the plus side I can take my cats outside and watch them run and play. They love to roll in the grass and talk to me ( meowing up a storm ). I'm just looking forward to when the trees are all bloomed out for shade and not causing my misery. ( But I'm hybrating when summer comes, HATE hot weather)

Hi Kimmydawn,

i'm like you- i love to hike. Especially i try to go to places like Shenandoah Rose River trail and find rare wildflowers to identify. Also the waterfalls are amazing everywhere you see them now because of the rainfall in the mountains. we still have some time left because this spring is a little slower to bloom (maybe less sunlight?)

Living downtown in a big city, Ihaven't gotten to enjoy the outdoors much, but with our move to a 10 room house with a back yard, I'm going to plant a garden and it even has a Lilac Bush so I'll be sitting under it a lot

Without a doubt, making love outside is my favorite warm weather activity. LOL. But I'm serious, well, at least honest, how serious can a sqrl be, after all? Something about being right under the sky, and naked, and ... well...further specificity could sully my post with impropriety, ahem. But I'm not really making a joke; finding a nice secluded spot outside, by some water, with my beloved...nothing better in my book.

Sqrl, that's the most beautiful thing I've read in ages. And your honesty is quite refreshing. Spaz, what can I say... you naughty girl you.

As for me, I'm all about riding my bike to a little river near my house and reflecting on anything and everything... or not thinking at all. The whole thing is refreshing and good for the soul. Thanks for this uplifting post Kimmy. I needed it.

I haven't been camping in years, we are talking about getting more camping gear and doing this this summer. I like to work in the yard. I have a garden(36'x46' maybe) I am going to be planting alot of good veggies this year. I also have a 6ft diameter tower I am building in the next couple weeks for strawberries. Oh yeah! I am adding an apple and peach tree this year. They should be here by the end of the month. I can hardly wait! Thought about taking up RC aircraft, it always interested me. I just never have the time =P I have too many hobbies on the table as it is. Horseback Riding is great. Get a small canoe! Just walking through the woods is nice also. In addition to collecting rocks you can start a leaf/flower collection. It is easy to build a homemade press to dry them.
I hope I didn't ramble too much, I love springtime =P

When a sqrl sees a katt, you can never be sure what will happen next, but when he sees a katt in mesh undies, streaking by, well generally he at least drops his acorns. Another great Spazkatt undies image. lol.

It's beeeee-oootiful outside today. Why can't I be out there not working instead of inside not working? Because if I'm inside, I'm still at my computer PRETENDING to work, that's why. If I'm outside, there's no getting around it, I'm not even trying to work.

The tulip leaves are up, pretty soon we'll have blooms. The lilacs are budding out so I'll be able to open my office window and smell them while I'm working. If I bring any inside, my cat goes "ooooh, yummy treats" and I end up with water and puked up flower petals all over the place (but never on the wood, only on the carpet. )

Favorite spring activity? Hmmmm I don't really have one. I'm just glad that it's light longer and finally warming up so I can open the windows and get some fresh air and walk outside barefoot (just beware of the thistles :need a hopping on one foot smiley: )

One other thing I love about spring is that my male cat will sit on the windowsills and "talk" to the birds. He has this special chirp that I swear he thinks will work to get the birds to come closer. It's just about the most hilarious thing I've ever heard. My kids and I just crack up when he does it.
