Angel...what's up?. Why are you unable to sleep hon?. Are you worrying about anything in particular that is preventing you from sleeping?. If you could take a benzo, a sleeping pill or perhaps even a swig of Nyquil, perhaps that would help. Can you talk to your doctor about this?. Here's hoping sleep comes and fast!! Oh man, I could relate to this, in early 2000 which stemmed from Oct 1999, Either I didn't sleep, or I had gone 8 months only with 2 hours of sleep per day. . . eventually once under treatment for Bipolar-II, I got sleep, but still got and still do, go through periods where I can't sleep, and I understand how that sucks.
Do you find when this happens, that you feel so wrung out the next day? Sometimes (often) I do, but oddly other times I seem to feel like I didn't lose any sleep at all.
I send you wishes of luck with this.
Please take care now,

DE

AG, I find the days that my kids are with their dad, I have a hard time shutting down my anxiety and can't sleep. I was trying generic Benadryl, which has the same active ingredient as most OTC sleep aids, but it wasn't working. I switched to the generic version of Unisom, which has a different ingredient, and I find it helps me get sleepy enough to where I can FINALLY get some rest.

Another thing I do is if I'm reading and start to fall asleep, I just let myself nod off, rather than putting the book down, rearranging the pillow and shutting the light off. Just that little bit of moving around wakes me right back up. I'd rather wake up with a book on my chest and a bright light turned on, because that means I actually got some sleep. Whooo hoooo!!!

Not to hijack your thread with my own experience last night or anything Angel but it's kind of ironic that I myself (for the first time in ages) had a very fitful night's sleep. It was one of those nights where your not truly asleep but rather in a state of "suspended animation". Not a deep sleep but one of those nights where your just teetering between awakeness and sleep. I'd fall "asleep" for a half hour, have a really freaky dream, wake up and then repeat the cycle...over and over again all through the night. I must have an entire encyclopedia of dreams in my head now...ahhh!. I woke up and felt all weird. Rabies, Anxiety, stress, AIDS, is it the Cipro XR (or one of the other meds I'm taking?. What a crazy night )-:.

I've told you before AG, insomnia is my nemesis. From the first post I've ever made I made that clear. Which is why I love this place. It's something constructive and interesting to do at 3am, lol. I got a new med from pdoc yesterday and after several weeks of not sleeping I slept for 14 hours last night. LOL. Which explains why I wasn't here all evening.
Hope you sleep tonight honey.

Thanks everybody for your kind words and hugs. DE, I feel like total crap today but I think it is more stress related symptoms to which I have no idea what is stressing me. Another night . . . GreyGoose, I've had nights like that before, kinda weird and kinda annoying at the same time. Tgr, glad that your pdoc fixed you up with something and you were able to sleep last night. As for me, I'm about to medicate all these stress-related symptoms, to which I don't know what is causing the stress, so I have less or no physical pain. Another night . . .
