I had estate business to do today, and a thunderstorm was moving in just as I arrived at their office... the handicapped parking was right under a big oak tree...and as I parked I wished I hadn't.
But I decided that God could take me out whenever and didn't need an oak tree and lightening to do that... but I quickly moved around the tree to the sidewalk... ah! OH NO... a very large flag pole stood in my path. The sidewalk went on either side of it, but not separated from it. Just as I was nearing the pole I heard.... well... like electrical current... or for Trekkies, like the tse tse flies that bothered them... and then my skin began to tingle. I KNOW this means a strike is imminent! I thought, I need to crouch down!!! But before I could ZAP!!!! My body went up into the air and a bit forward and then crashing down onto the sidewalk. I rolled in pain. No, it didn't hit me. I suspect it hit the flag pole. I was helped up by a man who came out of the office, and then to a chair and they called the nurses...who came and cleaned and bandaged my elbow... and knee. I landed hard and knocked my sacrum out, and also onto my left hand...and somewhere in there were my keys and panic button that are quite scraped up too... BUT I wasn't hit by lightening! I think I will take the other's advice and play the lottery this week.  Guess God told him who's boss! Obviously, God wants me around a little longer. Whew! (I'd left Caleb home because of another long story with the vet and the worming med recall... and he'd just had shots...) If I'd had him maybe I wouldn't have been uprooted by the strike...or maybe we'd both have gone down onto the sidewalk!

I am soooo stiff and sore today... arrrggghhh!! But it's better than being dead, or even in hospital with burns! Thank YOU Lord! It sure has been an interesting year, eh? Ok... I'm off to buy that ticket! Might buy some food while I'm at it.

Not feeling so well today. Cancelled all my doctor's appointments... trying to chill at home. This on top of everything else... sigh. It is what it is.

Wow that so scary, I'm so glad you're okay. I think you should go to your doctor and have them listen to your heart. If you're getting any irregular rythyms, mention it to your doctor. Thank goodness it didn't hit you directly.

Ok here are the lottery numbers I have (2 quick picks) which are drawn at 11 or 11:30pm Eastern (I don't really know.) But you can check them at the Florida Lottery website if you want, later. (It's the LOTTO game I'm playing.)

I am glad you are ok. That sounds very scary. My Aunt and Uncle were struck by lightning years ago and you can still see the scars where her jewelry was.
I spent 25 years in the electronics industry and was bit quite often but nothing like a lightning bolt. |
