You didn't give the option of saying it's okay in some instances. That's MY vote. Poll: Question about icons

SeptemberMom, maybe you are right that it doesn't matter, and that either Poll: Question about icons or Poll: Question about icons can be used interchangeably?

I'm not saying it can't be used for a question mark. It looks like a question mark to me. I've used it as a question mark. Apparently, for the 5 people that used it in the Drug Questions forum also thought it was a question mark.

What if a person is using Poll: Question about icons icon to ask a question for help, but others see it as a critique (a thumbs down) about something and choose not to read the post because they are just scanning the forums for post with Poll: Question about icons icon or upbeat posts? Maybe no one does that? Poll: Question about icons

It's definitely a "thumbs down." I take that to mean that something isn't right or someone had a bad experience; say a med that had the wrong effect. Then I would use the "thumbs down." Don't think I'd use it for a question mark, though. I wouldn't use it towards another person's ideas or the like.

My 2 cents worth. Poll: Question about icons

I just happen to know it's a thumbs down, but for someone unfamiliar, it kind of looks like a question mark with an extra slash of red behind it.
