Well, this morning my dad was going nuts, so my brother decided to wake me up from my half-sleep to go see them, too bad my camera battery was dead or else I would have taken a picture but they will probably be back again. We havn't seen this mother and baby since the baby had spots on it but now those spots are gone. I'm not a very good judge of size, to me all deer look big but apparently these deer were huge! (I am a good judge or prettyness though and they were pretty ) Both of them were does. So I asked my dad how big would he describe them, well, I was expecting some sort of technical term or an approximate measurement but the only thing he said was "big ***" so yeah, just google big deer and picture one of those without the antlers and there you go, that's what we saw in our yard alive this morning.

actually, it looked a lot like the doe in this picture

We saw some Does in our yard this morning
Thanks for this!

Hoping your camera is good to go next time. Thanks for posting though, you're lucky having nature that close to where you live.

The are cool, too bad the bus spooked them away. We usually see deer because we have an apple tree in our back yard, but this year there aren't that many apples were killed by frost (they aren't really edible for humans anyways because they're crab apples, but the deer love them)

I saw some too, and it's still dark out here on the W Coast! One of them was chasing off a raccoon. Hahaha. It was like, "I'm eatin' here. Get lost." There were at least 3 munching away at the lawn.

Yeah, there might have been a 3rd doe by a wood pile we have, but maybe that was the fawn again because when the bus came they didn't completely run away, they came back (a lot farther away from the house though)

I like deer , my dad does too...in the hunter sort of way

Deer are beautiful.. Very graceful and they have a graceful, majestic look about them.

My grandfather used to tell a story about visiting my grandmother's family in Michigan one winter (they live on the edge of a wooded area) and one morning, they looked out of the window of the house (a genuine log cabin, huge, with several bedrooms and a second level) and there was a huge black bear eating the apples they had put out for bait. Now, understand that my grandmother's family were not "hunters" because they ate everything they killed, and used all of the animal for one thing or another. This would have to have been in the 1930's.

Anyway, before the bear had a chance to run off, my great uncle stepped quietly out on the porch with his rifle. He aimed just as the bear stood up and looked at him, with each front paw holding a big red apple. My great uncle fired and the bear fell straight backward into the snow. Grandpa said it was like it was rehearsed. That bear stood up so pretty just in time to be taken down. They used the bear for meat and making soap, etc. And of course, the fur made lots of things back then.

Yeah, we have a bear rug, it's older then my dad is, we inherited it from our grandpa ....though this was a matter of if he didn't kill the bear he probably would have been attacked because the bear wanted the food in his pocket.

Awww!! I love deer!!

Thank you for the post!! Someday, I would like to have a nice house in the country with a little land...then I could plant a garden just for the deer to come and eat!! A deer garden!!

I'd also like to have a garden for butterflies and hummingbirds as well...but the deer would probably eat those too!!!

We have lots of deer on my farm. This week I saw a doe, a fawn and a buck in my field with my horse. Deer are everywhere. When I drive at dusk/night I say I am doing the Bambi Dodge because that is when they cross the road to the creek for water.

Once I saw a group of deer and came to a complete stop and sat there looking at them and one of the deer freaked out and started running and ran straight into my car door. Silly deer.
