I really don't know how to stop wanting stuff. I think i'm more or less over the mouse-buying phase, and I can somewhat stop myself from getting more DVDs for the moment. Now, I want western equipment for my horse. I've always wanted them, but now I'm actually placing bids and leaving ads that I wanna buy a western saddle. There's this one in particular that I want, Big Horn Arabian Light 15,5". It costs almost 1000€ when u buy it new, but I got a response to my ad from this woman, and she has THAT saddle!! I'm actually a bit anxious at the moment cuz I have to wait tomorrow to call her (since it is almost 1am)... I was looking up stuff that I could use with the saddle, to "distract" myself... yeah right..

Anyway, was actually gonna ask if there is anything you CAN do to stop being this.. economically irresponsible crazy person? I just feel like.. if I just got this saddle (and the stuff to go with it) ..then that would be it and I wouldn't need anything more. I was gonna say "useless crap" but since everything has been useful to me....eh.. lets not start rambling Shopping causing problems
Anything I could do?

Neri.

I understand. I too shop way more then I should. For me it's clothes. I used to shop every weekend for clothes. Now its about twice a months. I'm not talking shirt here or shorts there. I mean all out shopping. At least 5-7 outfits a time, shoes and purses. I know that I have a problem but I cant stop. HUBBY, installed another bar in my walk in closet to accomadate all of my clothes. I have two 32 pair shoe racks in my closet and they are both filled to capacity and I have more shoes on the floor. I love clothes. I love shoes. I love purses. I love accessories.
I'm sorry, I'm with you on this. I dont know how to stop. Shopping causing problems

Hello -- I am having a problem with shopping, too. Of course, when everyday living expenses cause a major negative cash flow, any least little thing that I "treat" myself to is "no-no."

However, I recently bought 5 pairs of pjs -- I never did that when I was working! Had more moderation. Brought 3 items back, and I'm working myself to giving up more.

Of course, then I went out & bought a comforter for the bed. Not an expensive one -- but to comfort myself for the expensive one I can't afford! Talk about nuts!

I'm not sure if the forum should be isolated to shopping -- perhaps all addictions, including codependency which, however, fits into relationships.

Thanks for sharing about this Neri.Good topic.
