I hear ya ! I have yet to understand why some insurance companies are sooooooooooo slow in paying a claim. And of course if u have more than one insurance, waiting for the second to pay makes it worse. I have always found it helpful for me, to talk to the person at the Doctor's office about this. MOST Doctor's offices, hospitals etc, KNOW that Ins. Co's are slow. I think in this computerized world we are living in, that once a month, a computerized statement is printed for everyone who has a balance due, no matter the circumstances. if you could talk to the person in charge of billing at the places you are awaiting insurance payments for, and ask them to PLEASE hold all your bills - rather than sending them, because of the stress it is causing, maybe that would help. I have found out from personal experience that trying to "hurry up" an insurance company is a waste of time.........might even make them slow the payment down even more.

If you have insurance that is going to cover most, if not all, of the outstanding bills you have, I would just forget about it ! No Doctors office, hospital etc is going to put out the money to take u to court, or turn you over to a collector if you have insurance. (I take care of my Mom's Medicare and private insurance and I have a folder right here on this desk I am at, and in it are MANY bills that state on the bottom "THIS IS NOT A BILL.....yadda yadda yadda".....cause they are waiting for Medicare to pay, then private to pay). I still think we get those monthly statements thanks to a computerized system that just isnt too smart !

Please don't let this stress you out so much - and please dont harm yourself because incompetent insurance companies are being slow paying ! THEY are not worth giving so much power too !

Good luck !

Hi Parker ...thanks for replying.

Some of the bills I've actually ignored because I have talked to the insurance co. and the particular doctor's office on the matter and got sick of saying well it's basically one of the two of you because it is ...who isn't putting in the right codes...yadda yadda yadda *shrugs*. So I ignored a few.

Then this one particular one ...I spoke again to the insurance co. They said that the doctor's office is not filing it properly under my #. Spoke to the woman @ the office. Called her she thanked me for giving her the correct info...yadda yadda yadda. I got a phone call from her not too long after. Called her back. She never returned my call. And today I got a bill AGAIN.

And as far as them not going after me with the bills...The hospital does. I mean I do fit under charity care, but I have to pay 40%. My bills added up and then when I couldn't pay they sent them to a lawyer to collect. I called the hospital to see what I could do. They would accept 40%. My bills are high...my copays and prescriptions alone are high.

It's just annoying.

I'm sorry I was just venting.

But thanks for your help. I'M SO SICK OF INSURANCE COMPANIES NOT DOING THEIR JOBS
