I just can't stop crying tonight.. everything is upsetting me lately and I'm pretty sure it's the withdrawal from getting off topamax (they're switching me to a new seizure med but it was also used as a mood stabilizer) and the new one (clobazam) I'm pretty sure is not a mood stabilizer. I just feel so upset these days, I feel like no one likes me, like no one cares, I'm taking everything to heart, everything personally, and the tiniest things are upsetting me that normally wouldn't. I hate this Maybe it's just withdrawal I don't know, or maybe I always need to be on a mood stabilizer. I just wish I wasn't so sensitive and I wish I didn't feel so upset.

ughh I just wish I could feel normal!

Amanda,
It's tough going through these med changes! I hope you feel better soon...

Jme...
Clobazam belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines, used in the treatment of epilepsy and off label conditions. It may be used alone or as an adjunct to other drugs...

Possible symptoms of withdrawal from topomax may include the following:
  • anxiety
  • increased heart rate
  • tremor
  • generally feeling unwell
  • drowsiness
  • dizziness
  • poor coordination
  • restlessness, aggression, anxiety or agitation
If you continue to feel this way, please check with your physician.

My best wishes for this to pass quickly,
Catherine

Dear Amanda

So sorry to hear that you are sad. Sometimes a certain drug I used to be on would make me very weepy. Sometimes changes in drugs can make the boat a little rocky. AT times we all feel vulnerable. Maybe you can check back with your doctor?

In the mean time try and do something soothing for yourself. Listen to nice music or watch a DVD that you like. I like candles and curling up in front of a heater. Do something you know will help you to relax.

People do care about you but at times the Paranoia Monster rears its head and its hard to believe. Try and take a few deep breaths and settle yourself....

Take care.....

Thank you Catherine and Possum. I'm feeling a bit better today but still really up and down. It seems to come and go. (seems to be worse at night). I think I am going to wait a few days to see if it is just withdrawal but if it doesn't go away (the depression and paranoid feelings), I will call my doctor to see if I should go back on a mood stabilizer. I just hate feeling so emotional... fine one minute, crying the next, taking things too personally when they're not meant to, thinking all these worst case sceneros, etc.

Thanks for listening to my vent and for your support! I appreciate it ((((hugs))))

Amanda,
Thank you for letting us know how you are doing...

It sounds like you have a good plan in place, jmo.
Being willing to give it a few more days, but also accepting that you may have to call your physician, is being positive...and proactive. Good for you!

I also hate it when I have those days of being on an emotional roller coaster...sometimes I think I'd rather have triplets in my back yard with only the dog there licking my face for comfort

Hang on--that roller coaster will slow down soon...really.

Catherine
