Ryan, you can do this. You are a worthwhile person with great things in your future I think. Like Rayna says (she's a smart cookie!), once the toxins are out of your system, and the shakes and the sweats are gone, you'll feel better. I know what you're going thru, I remember it very well. But I also remember that feeling of fighting the battle against this, and winning. I'll always be an alcoholic, no doubt about that, but for today I choose not to drink. That's what you have to do Ry, for just one day, make the choice not to drink. And remember (it's my favorite AA saying) "Keep it Simple".

You have an awful lot of people here that love and care about you. I'm one of them. PM Rayna, or me, let's talk. You're not in this alone. I'll PM you the new phone number in case you want to call.

Man, I love you and I want you around for a very long time. Selfish bastard aren't I?

Greg

Drink a lot of water to flush the toxins out of the system quickly. You might look into some natural health remedies to flush out toxins. Quite a few people I know are jazzed on Dr. Schulze's programs (this is not the footware Dr. Schultze) -- I am experimenting with some of his natural remedies. PM me for a web address.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{Ry}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} It's not "sobriety" that sucks, Babe. It's the withdrawal and your system detoxifying. Look into what Wants2Fly recommended. Sobriety SUCKS

Well, I think the worst MIGHT have passed. I'm feeling better today. The cravings are still there in diminished form (that won't last) and the shakes seem to have subsided quite a bit. Some eating advise from my sponsor helped a lot as well as the fellowship from a meeting last night... oh yeah, and all of your support. Thanks a million guys. Yall are great. Much love.

Good to hear, Ryan! Hang in there. What was the eating advice... it seems the two suggestions I get the most are a big steak or lots of chocolate.

LOL Goofy!!!!! Sugar was the main bit of advise. Chocolate, orange juice with honey, anything sweet since the alcohol is sugar... or turns to sugar in your system... whatever. My sponsor said that mainly what I'm craving is the sugar he must have been right cause drinking some honey OJ really helped. (((((goofy)))))

How very proud I am of you for taking this courageous step. I know how it feels to take this path and it's quite hard but so worth it in the long run. Your strong and you can do anything you set your mind to. I am behind you 100%.

Hey man, all the best. I know I am late to this thread but I didn't have any good advice for you and didn't want to get in the way. But things are looking good for you and I just wanted to wish you well. Telling us of your journey is admirable. With guts like that you should be all set ;-)

Sky, I'm down today but I don't have to drink over it. I'm going to a meeting in a little while. Thanks for asking friend.
