KKawohl . . . thanks for elaborating. so what did the first post have to do with the thread's question? (you don't have to explain, i'm really that confused.)

i think the word "superstition" is for dogmatists to label others' beliefs as irrational.

I'm not taking anyone's ragged ole khakis from nobody!

The only scientific basis for continuing a superstition, imo, is that persistent belief creates actuality. You can use that in a positive or negative manner. It isn't the superstition that is truth, but the mind's ability to create what is intended that becomes truth.
