There's been a lot of abbreviations that I'm not sure I understand. Internet language Nonsense question

Was just gonna ask for the "imo" and what i believe to be conductions of it "imho" and "imnsho"

As I am still new to these I can only guess, but what I thought "imnsho" means when I read it.. just a feeling based guess... My first thought was "in my no-shít honest opinion" Nonsense question am i anywhere near the truth? Nonsense question
Sometimes all the abbreviations royally bug me, cuz it of course makes understanding what is said even more difficult, but at times the quessing can be fun Nonsense question

As others have stated before me, the "IMO" abbreviation simply means "In My Opinion", with other variations used daily (ie: IMHO, IMNSHO, etc...)

For more acronyms and/or abbreviations, you can try here . This is a relatively full list of the ones I've seen around, but as you can imagine new ones are discovered daily and just requires some imagination.

I'm with you Neri. I only use a couple abbreviations, lol and brb. If I don't know what an abbreviation means, then I just don't know what's being said! Too much for de brain!!! Lol.

Same here Neri,

I learned all of the aerospace engineering acronyms with no problem, & from that came most of the military acronyms from those I worked with.

This is like worse that a foreign language...I was getting around Italy fluently after 5 weeks & for kicks, I would sit in church & translate the sermon into spanish...but this...leaves me in the dark so many times because it flys by so many times in chat leaving saying "what the...?"

I am slowly getting a little wiser, & appreciate the links so I can further my education here so I don't feel like such a dunce.

Thank you neri for bringing this up, & thank you minolwen & sky for providing places to further our education.

Debbie

Remember when in chat you can "save" the chat.. and while you might not want to save it forever (to the word processing program on your computer) you can click on the 3 1/2" floppy icon on the bottom to save it.. while still in chat that allows you to "READ BACK" in the chat ; to reread anything you might have missed.

Trying to read back from the chat screen won't work since every time someone says something, the screen jumps back to the last comment.

LMAO Thanks so much for bringing this up. I only know the simple ones. I have learned something tonight. I recall that years ago I sent a list of internet lingo to a friend who was in her 80's. Wonder what has changed since then.

Thank you again
